Course Description
This course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills to safely select, operate, and maintain portable fire extinguishers. Learners will understand fire classifications, extinguisher types, and proper firefighting techniques to respond effectively to small workplace fires while minimizing personal risk.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the different classes of fire and corresponding extinguishing agents.
- Select the correct type of fire extinguisher for a given scenario.
- Demonstrate safe and effective operation of portable fire extinguishers.
- Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers according to safety standards.
- Apply basic safety principles during a fire response.
Prerequisite
- None required.
- Recommended: basic knowledge of workplace fire safety and evacuation procedures.
Course Attire
- Comfortable clothing suitable for light physical activity.
- Closed-toe shoes required for practical extinguisher drills.
