Course Description
This course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform safe trench and excavation rescue operations. It focuses on hazard recognition, scene safety, shoring and shielding systems, risk assessment, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and rescue techniques aligned with industry standards. Participants learn to respond safely to trench collapse emergencies while minimizing risks to rescuers and victims.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize hazards associated with trenches and excavations, including cave-ins and atmospheric hazards.
- Understand roles and responsibilities of rescue personnel, supervisors, and entrants.
- Apply risk assessment and control measures in trench rescue operations.
- Use shoring, shielding, and other protective systems safely.
- Operate rescue tools and equipment effectively during trench incidents.
- Plan, execute, and coordinate a safe trench rescue operation.
- Support emergency responders and document rescue operations for review and improvement.

- Recommended: basic emergency response, confined space, or rope rescue knowledge.
